Hi, @vpetersson , @nicomiguelino
I would like to ask whether the forum might be interested in a technical article about upgrading NEC MultiSync V404-RPi displays with their internal Raspberry Pi Compute Module.
We have successfully upgraded the original systems based on Compute Module 3/3+ to Raspberry Pi OS Trixie 64-bit Lite and the latest Anthias releases, including resolving some display-specific video/DRM issues.
We have also experimentally tested and successfully validated a hardware upgrade to the Raspberry Pi Compute Module 4S, while retaining the original NEC carrier board.
The entire process has been documented step by step, including diagnostics, configurations, hardware/software testing, issues encountered and their solutions, as well as technical exchanges through second-level support tickets with NEC and Sharp’s official European support centres, and the various devices purchased and tested during the investigation.
If this could be useful to the community, I would be happy to organize all the material into a detailed technical topic/article and make the results of this work available to other users.
Please let me know if you would be interested.
Best regards.
