Raspberry is a quite fine personal computer.
If you want to spend extra money on unneeded hardware you could build a PC yourself and install Linux and screenly, but why should you want to spend that extra money and time?
Yes, you can do this now. Anthias runs on standard x86 PCs, not just the Raspberry Pi, so you can install it on a regular Linux PC by following the x86 install instructions. Marking this as solved.
