Hi everyone,
I’ve been using Screenly OSE for a few months now to manage digital signage at a couple of small retail locations, and overall, I’m really happy with how straightforward the setup is. However, as our needs grow, I’m starting to run into a few challenges and wanted to reach out to the community for advice.
Right now, I’m managing three screens, but we’re planning to scale up to 10–15 screens across multiple stores. I’ve been logging into each device individually for updates and content changes, but that’s quickly becoming time-consuming and inefficient. I know Screenly OSE doesn’t have native multi-screen management like the Pro version, but I’m wondering if anyone here has found a good workaround or system for handling updates and monitoring at scale.
Specifically, I’d love to hear:
- How you’re deploying or updating content across several OSE devices at once
- If you’ve integrated any sort of automation (e.g., scripts, cron jobs, rsync, etc.) to make the process smoother
- Any tips on remote monitoring or health checks for devices running OSE
- Whether it’s feasible to use a reverse proxy or VPN to streamline access to devices remotely

I’m trying to stick with OSE if possible due to budget constraints, but I’m open to creative solutions. Thanks in advance for any input, and I’d really appreciate hearing about your setups or even seeing some examples if you’re willing to share.
Looking forward to learning from you all!
