After an over-the-air update using the fleets for good image the buffers and cahce section of the memory chart increases significantly and does not appear to go down.
I have seen this behaviour on both pi4 and pi5. Somewhat obviously, it does go down once you reboot the device.
There does not seem to be any negative impact on the device however, I wonder if something is not being cleaned up correctly during an over-the-air update.
I honestly wouldn’t be too worried about it. You got plenty of free memory. It could be a memory leak, but I think it is more likely that it is the browser that is just holding on to the memory.
It’s definitely not a memory leak in the webpage being displayed. I’ve got a pretty good benchmarks on what my normal memory usage is and the increase. It definitely occurs after an OTA update.
I agree, I am not too worried about it because we’re deploying 8Gb Pis, but it still looks suspicious.
I’m not sure if there’s a good way for me to re-create this issue since if I deploy the latest fleet for the good image, it’ll be the most recent version.
