MP3 No Longer Supported?

Hello,

I am attempting to upload an MP3 file on a fresh install of Anthias on a Pi 4 and I’m receiving an “Invalid File Type” error. Are MP3s no longer supported? I saw on a Screenly post that they are supported at 320kbps (https://support.screenly.io/hc/en-us/articles/360009207314-What-content-types-are-supported-by-Screenly). Is this not the same for Anthias? I’ve tried upgrading and downgrading the bit rate on this particular MP3 for testing purposes, but to no avail.

Thank you,

@Stumpy, I’m sorry to hear that. Anthias doesn’t support MP3 at the moment. In the meantime, you can try uploading a video file (e.g., MP4) with just audio and just a blank video, if that works.

Yep, that alternative route does work. Is there a way for me to remain updated for when MP3 services are restored?

Thank you.

@Stumpy, Anthias is different from Screenly. About MP3 support for Anthias, we don’t have a definite timeline to when it will be supported, but changes (pull requests) are always welcome.

I would definitely support that pull request! It’s a feature that I miss and would definitely love to have back. It save having to make an MP4 file
