Full black Screen Issues on Raspberry Pi 3 When Opening Apps via VNC

Hi everyone,
Full black screen problems have been occurring on my Raspberry Pi 3 when I try to open specific applications via VNC. The Pi is connected via power and LAN only, with no monitor or display directly attached.

The issue arises when I try to open applications like TeamViewer, VS Code, or the browser. The screen either turns black or white, or the application fails to display correctly. Interestingly, other applications work perfectly fine through the VNC connection.

Here’s what I have tried so far:

Adjusting the VNC resolution.
Unfortunately, this has not resolved the issue. Does anyone know what might be causing this problem or have suggestions on how to fix it?

@romromillys, Anthias doesn’t currently support running in VNC mode. A display is required to make Anthias work.

I’d like to ask the following questions:

  • What OS is your Raspberry Pi 3 running?
    • For instance, is it running the latest Raspberry Pi OS (Bookworm)?
    • Did you install the headless or the GUI version?
