I had anthias running great on a Pi5 connected to a 4K TV for about a month.
I have run several updates and it has continued running fine after a reboot, until today. I ran an update this morning and then after a reboot the screen simply displays a white screen after a reboot. I tried running the update script again, tried a manual ‘sudo apt upgrade’ and have tried multiple reboots but am still getting a white screen.
I can SSH into the pi and everything that I can see looks ok, the web dashboard seems to work fine and I can upload assets etc.
Not sure what to try now to get it working or if i should just re-install… I wish I had made an image of the SD card on a working version but i guess I can flash it and start from scratch!
I am also having this same problem on Pi4 this morning after an upgrade. I have tried a fresh install from a blank Debian lite install and after running the install script i get the blank white screens. This happens even on the default assets.
I have found a workaround to revert back to an older version. if you do the bin/run_upgrade.sh and instead of latest you select tag and then put in v0.20.3 as the tag it will download an older version and start working again.
Awesome! Thanks so much I’m going to try this now. Unfortunately I will be going in through a VPN and I won’t be able to see if it has worked until I’m physically back with the setup…
@JaimeLopes, @jason.thacker The fix has already been deployed (fix: downgrade `sh` from 2.2.2 to 1.8 by nicomiguelino · Pull Request #2521 · Screenly/Anthias · GitHub). You can now upgrade to the latest version. Please let me know if you’re still having issues.
