How to SSH Into a BalenaOS installation? Deprecated OpenSSH Version

how can i ssh into a Anthias installation via BalenaOS ?

It would not be possible to SSH into Anthias install via BalenaOS (via balenaHub or via the release images).

To be able to SSH into Anthias, you have the following options:

  1. Install Anthias on Raspberry Pi OS Lite
  2. Install Anthias on your own Balena account/fleet instead

the problem ist the outdated sshd (openssh) version.
I want to rollout anthias in our production site, but the security says no because of the old openssh version. is there a way to update it?

Version source : SSH-2.0-OpenSSH_8.9
Installed version : 8.9
Fixed version : 9.8p1 / 9.8

Solution

Upgrade to OpenSSH version 9.8 or later.

Hi @dakeeper , did you install the OS from balenaHUB or a release image? As @nicomiguelino Mentioned, if you install with your own fleet, you can do the SSH.

@dakeeper, feel free to upgrade the OpenSSH version in your machine and/or in your Raspberry Pi. I checked the sshd version in my Pi 4 with Bookworm installed and gave me OpenSSH_9.2, OpenSSL 3.0.16 11 Feb 2025.
